Baird is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Friday. They will take on the Gorman Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Baird's last matchup with Eden could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Friday. The Bears were dealt a 64-36 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs. The Bears just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 36 points the game before, Gorman was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They were beaten by Bryson 52-6. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Cowboys: they've now lost three in a row.

Gorman's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Baird, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-5.

Everything came up roses for Baird against Gorman when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 50-19 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Panthers' Nathan Rodriguez, who rushed for 183 yards and one score, and also threw for 52 yards and one touchdown.
