Basketball Recap: Eastern Snags Sixth Win in Last Eight Games

With a playoff win on the line, Eastern rose to the challenge on Thursday. They strolled past the Vineland Fighting Clan with points to spare, taking the game 51-34. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 64th, while the Fighting Clan are ranked 234th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Eastern has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. This is the second loss in a row for Vineland and nudges their season record down to 13-11.

Looking ahead, Eastern will face off against Atlantic City on Monday. Atlantic City knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten contests -- so hopefully Eastern likes a good challenge. Vineland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
