Basketball Recap: Larned's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

Larned had to endure a 12-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Kinsley Coyotes by a score of 41-33 on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Indians also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Kinsley's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anthony Meza, who posted 14 points along with five boards and four steals. Trenton Anderson was another key player, putting up five points and four steals.

Larned's win ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-2. As for Kinsley, they dropped their record down to 1-2 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Larned wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 41-39 victory against Nickerson on the 14th. As for Kinsley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 52-32 defeat against Bucklin on the 14th.
