Softball Recap: Canterbury Comes Up Short

Canterbury was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost 14-6 to the Osceola Kowboys. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Crusaders of the 13-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Cali Baust was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Canterbury's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Osceola, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-8 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Canterbury will face off against Bishop McLaughlin Catholic at 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday. The Crusaders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hurricanes have averaged an impressive 12 runs per game this season. As for Osceola, they will take on Liberty in a tournament on Monday. The Chargers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.6 runs per game on average), something the Kowboys will no doubt try to take advantage of.
