Recap: Hope Academy Trojan Tigers vs. Belleview Rattlers
The Hope Academy Trojan Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 22 points or more this season. They really took it to Belleview for the full four quarters, racking up a 73-45 win on the road. Given Hope Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 173rd, while Belleview is ranked 698th), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Hope Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Dwayne Foreman III out in front who scored 18 points along with eight assists and three steals. The matchup was Foreman III's 16th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Shine, who scored 16 points along with five assists and four steals.
Hope Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Belleview, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hope Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on South Lake at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
