Basketball Recap: Pine-Richland Takes a Loss

Pine-Richland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Sunday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. The game between them and the Montour Spartans didn't end well, with the Pine-Richland Rams falling 70-52. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2020.

Ama Tening Sow continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Montour, dropping a double-double on 32 points and 22 boards. Sow is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least 12 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Kaleb Platz, who posted 12 points and five boards.

Pine-Richland's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Montour, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 15-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pine-Richland has already played their next match (against North Hills), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Montour will face off against Mars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Mars' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six contests.
