Preview: Goodwin Tech Gladiators vs. Grasso Tech Eagles
Goodwin Tech has been on the road for three straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Grasso Tech Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Goodwin Tech will be strutting in after a win while Grasso Tech will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Goodwin Tech beat Vinal RVT 54-48.
Meanwhile, Grasso Tech was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 54-48 to Windham RVT.
Loss or not, Grasso Tech got some senior leadership from Nick Stavesky who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and Charis Johnson who scored nine points along with nine rebounds. Johnson has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times he's played. Ethan Chacha- Mizhquiri was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds.
Goodwin Tech pushed their record up to 5-2 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points per game. As for Grasso Tech, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Goodwin Tech was able to grind out a solid win over Grasso Tech when the teams last played back in January of 2023, winning 54-45. Does Goodwin Tech have another victory up their sleeve, or will Grasso Tech turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
