Baseball Game Preview: Centennial Eagles vs. Dwyer Panthers

The Centennial Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Dwyer Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Centennial's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Dwyer's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Last Thursday, Centennial didn't have quite enough to beat Central and fell 5-4.

Michael DiDonato was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk).

At the plate, Marcos Bencosme made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Chris Muscerella, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Dwyer suffered their biggest defeat since March 7th on Friday. They lost 14-4 to Jupiter.

Rocco Bianco was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 1-for-2. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

Centennial's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Dwyer, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 11-8.

Centennial suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Dwyer when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
