Preview: West Point Pointers vs. Carver College and Career Academy Wolverines

The West Point Pointers will head out on the road to take on the Carver College and Career Academy Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. West Point is hoping to put an end to a 15-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.

Last Friday, things could have been worse for West Point, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 64-48 loss to Charles City.

Meanwhile, Carver College and Career Academy can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat King William 99-66 at home. Given Carver College and Career Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 159th, while King William is ranked 373rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Carver College and Career Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Camron Paul out in front who scored 31 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Paul is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Tyson Marsh was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 18 rebounds.

West Point's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Carver College and Career Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-1.

West Point was dealt a bruising 107-30 defeat at the hands of Carver College and Career Academy when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Thankfully for West Point, Jerimiah Nevers (who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 17 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
