Basketball Recap: Tristan Anderson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Olympian over Victory Christian Academy

If Olympian was feeling good fresh off their 83-49 takedown of St. Joseph Academy last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Olympian Eagles lost 60-39 to the Victory Christian Academy Knights on Thursday. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Knights earlier this season, when they won 57-55.

Olympian's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tristan Anderson, who posted 12 points and five rebounds. Anderson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last ten games he's played. Jordan Walker was another key player, putting up six points and three steals.

Leading Victory Christian Academy to victory were Angel Ochoa and Isaiah Owens. Ochoa went 7-for-13 to rack up 15 points along with five assists and three steals, while Owens dropped a double-double with ten points and ten boards. The dominant performance also gave Owens a new career-high in assists (eight). Another player making a difference was Jayden Gray, who scored seven points in addition to five assists and three steals.

Olympian's record now sits at 21-6. As for Victory Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-13 record this season.

Olympian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 82-67 victory against Monte Vista on the 14th. Victory Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
