Baseball Recap: Midway Wins Going Away Against Oakdale

Midway hadn't done well against Oakdale recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Everything went the Midway Green Wave's way against the Oakdale Eagles as the Midway Green Wave made off with an 18-0 victory. That's two games straight that the Green Wave have won by exactly 18 runs.

Rowynn McClure was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. He also allowed no hits, which is notable because Midway is 2-1 when he allows at most three hits, but 1-4 otherwise. McClure was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Midway got a massive performance out of Peyton Steele, who scored four runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3. Those four runs gave Steele a new career-high. Caiden Brewer was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Midway kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.

Midway's record is now 3-5. As for Oakdale, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Midway will have a chance to go back-to-back against Oakdale: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
