Basketball Game Preview: Idalia Wolves vs. Otis Bulldogs

The Idalia Wolves and the Otis Bulldogs will meet in a canine-themed contest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Idalia is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Hi-Plains: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Idalia blew Hi-Plains out of the water with a 55-12 final score. The contest marked the Wolves' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Idalia's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Kolby Morris, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds, and Broderick Kite, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 11 points and five steals. The dominant performance gave Morris a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Richards, who posted six points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Otis waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They took their match with ease, bagging a 68-39 win over the Fightin' Bulldogs.

Otis is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.6 points per game. As for Idalia, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Idalia was able to grind out a solid win over Otis when the teams last played back in January of 2024, winning 64-57. Does Idalia have another victory up their sleeve, or will Otis turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
