Softball Recap: Huntley's Winning Streak Snapped at Seven Games

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Huntley can now relate to. They fell just short of the Barrington Fillies/Broncos by a score of 2-0 on Friday. The Red Raiders' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Gretchen Huber spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Huntley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alyssa Bonner, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Huntley's defeat dropped their record down to 25-13. As for Barrington, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 33-3-1 record this season.

As of now, neither Huntley nor Barrington have any future games scheduled.
