Softball Recap: University Bulldogs vs. Alamosa Mean Moose

University entered their tilt with Alamosa on Saturday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Alamosa Mean Moose a 10-0 shutout. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 contests by seven runs or more this season.

Jasi Cole was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Cole was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-2 with a home run, three runs, and three RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in the last five games she's played dating back to last season.

In other batting news, Rylie Tennent was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Ellie Baca, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

University was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in 11 consecutive games.

University has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. As for Alamosa, they now have a losing record at 12-13.
