Hillhouse fell to Guilford 35-20 last week, the largest margin of any game. Corey Maddox was a bright spot for the Academics, as he threw for 91 yards and ran for 116 yards in the defeat.
The Indians led Southern Connecticut Division II - West in scoring this week by notching 35 points on Hillhouse. Joe Nault threw for 95 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 64 yards during the win.
Maddox was a passing and rushing force as Reggie Lytle's team lost to Guilford.
Carl Williams was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 188 yards on 34 carries as Branford fell to Hyde Leadership.
The Trojans' Kyle Smith and Rodriguez have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Smith has thrown for 1,160 yards this season, while Rodriguez has 28 catches for 547 yards. Harold Cooper from the Academics leads the league in rushing with 1,246 yards.
One of Southern Connecticut Division II - West's premier quarterbacks will face off with its top pass rusher when Lyman Hall and Law face off next week.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Hillhouse takes on the Hornets. The Academics are currently in second, while Branford is in fifth.
Thomas Unger's team made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,720 from 7,235. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 35-20 victory over Hillhouse last week.
