Softball Recap: Allen Park Drops Season-High Score on South Lyon East

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Allen Park). They put the hurt on the South Lyon East Cougars with a sharp 15-5 victory on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Jaguars, who have now won five matches by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Kiley Carr, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mallory Hool, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Allen Park kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive contests.

Allen Park's record now sits at 9-1. As for South Lyon East, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Cougars beat Allen Park by a score of 8-1 later that day.
