Recap: Bayside Marlins vs. Salem Sundevils

After flying high against the Cape Henry Collegiate Dolphins last Friday, the Bayside Marlins came back down to earth. Bayside lost to Salem at home by a decisive 59-42 margin on Tuesday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Bayside in their matchups with Salem: they've now lost nine in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Bayside lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jessie Ware. Despite the final result, she scored 19 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Ware is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Rayani Jones, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

Bayside's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Salem, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Ocean Lakes the next time they take the court. Bayside will head out to face Ocean Lakes at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Salem will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
