Volleyball Game Preview: Valencia Tigers vs. Costa Mesa Mustangs

The Valencia Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Costa Mesa Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Valencia is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

Valencia had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Tustin on Tuesday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Tillers with a sharp 3-0 victory.

The final score came out to 25-20, 25-21, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Costa Mesa made easy work of Laguna Hills on Monday and carried off a 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Hawks: they've now won five in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-21, 25-14.

Valencia's win bumped their record up to 14-5-2. As for Costa Mesa, their victory bumped their record up to 11-14.

Valencia took their win against Costa Mesa when the teams last played two weeks ago by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
