Soccer Game Preview: Alexander Central vs. Watauga

Alexander Central is 0-10 against Watauga since April of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Cougars will square off against the Pioneers at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Alexander Central's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They won by a goal and slipped past Ashe County 1-0.

Meanwhile, Watauga waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Spartans as they made off with a 7-0 victory. The result was nothing new for Watauga, who have now won three contests by seven goals or more so far this season.

Watauga now has a winning record of 4-3-1. As for Alexander Central, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-3-4.

Alexander Central suffered a grim 5-1 defeat to Watauga in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
