Baseball Game Preview: Terra Linda Trojans vs. Head-Royce Jayhawks

The Terra Linda Trojans will take on the Head-Royce Jayhawks at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Terra Linda's pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so Head-Royce's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Last Friday, Terra Linda came up short against Marin Catholic and fell 6-1.

Michael Graham was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February of 2024.

Meanwhile, Head-Royce took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They blew past Piedmont 7-1.

Ezra Goldfarb was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Davis Lynch, who scored two runs while going 4-for-4. Mateo Gonzalez was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Terra Linda dropped their record down to 2-2 with the loss, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Head-Royce, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
