If Mountain Brook was riding high fresh off their 13-3 takedown of Clay-Chalkville on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Spartans fell just short of the Oxford Yellow Jackets by a score of 5-3 on Wednesday. The Spartans have struggled against the Yellow Jackets recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Mountain Brook got a good showing from Mackenzie Wedell, who tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits.
