Baseball Game Preview: Etiwanda Eagles vs. Warren Bears

The Etiwanda Eagles will square off against the Warren Bears at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Etiwanda 3.3, Warren 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Warren will be up against a hot Etiwanda team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Eagles' pitchers stepped up to hand Bishop Amat a 1-0 shutout on Wednesday.

Landon Durmisevich looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). Michael Aleman relieved him and did a solid job, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

Meanwhile, after a string of seven wins, Warren's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They lost 13-0 to Sierra Canyon. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bears have suffered since March 10th.

Warren's defeat dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Etiwanda, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.

Everything went Etiwanda's way against Warren in their previous matchup back in May of 2022, as Etiwanda made off with a 10-1 win. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
