Centennial and Independence are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2022, but likely not for long. The Cougars are taking a road trip to square off against the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Centennial and Page meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Cougars fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 4-3.

Meanwhile, Independence can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They blew past Spring Hill 7-1. The Eagles not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 9th (when they won 8-1).

Independence's win bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Centennial, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.

Centennial came out on top in a nail-biter against Independence in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, sneaking past 5-4. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
