Basketball Recap: Overbrook Takes a Loss

Overbrook made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Samuel Fels, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Overbrook fell just short of Samuel Fels by a score of 69-66 on Thursday. Overbrook's defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row dating back to last season.

When it comes to explaining why Overbrook lost, don't look at Jayden Blanton. Despite the final result, he went 10-for-15 en route to 31 points and three steals. Blanton has also also been stellar as far as three-point shooting accuracy is concerned: he's posted one of at least 50% every time he's hit the court this season. Another player making a difference was Mykir Blackwell, who shot 63% from the field on his way to 12 points and four steals.

Overbrook's loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Overbrook will challenge Great Oaks at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Samuel Fels, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Friends Select at 5:30 p.m.
