Baseball Recap: Freedom Gets the Win

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Freedom had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the James Logan Colts. The victory continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Colts: they've now won six in a row.

Colton Vick spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Dylan DeLauter, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Landon Clenney, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one double.

Freedom now has a winning record of 13-12. As for James Logan, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 15-10 record.

Coming up, Freedom will challenge El Cerrito at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Gauchos will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Falcons surely won't give up without a fight. James Logan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
