Softball Recap: Rutherford Picks Up Fifth Straight Win on the Road

Rutherford strolled into their game on Wednesday with an undefeated record and they left with the same. They came out on top against the Weehawken Indians by a score of 6-3. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered an 11-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Rutherford pushed their record up to 3-0-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Weehawken, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-2.

Coming up, Rutherford will be playing in front of their home fans against Indian Hills at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday. As for Weehawken, they will head out on the road to square off against Harrison at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians are facing the Blue Tide at the right time seeing as the Blue Tide are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
