Soccer Recap: Salem Finds Home Pitch Redemption Against Vienna/Goreville

There's no place like home for Salem, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Vienna/Goreville Eagles a 3-0 shutout on Tuesday.

Salem's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-7. As for Vienna/Goreville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Salem has already played their next game, a 6-3 win against East Alton-Wood River on the 10th. As for Vienna/Goreville, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Carbondale at 4:30 p.m. on the 22nd.
