Sioux City East is 9-1 against Sioux City North since December of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Sioux City East Black Raiders will face off against the Sioux City North Stars at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Sioux City East's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Last Tuesday, Sioux City East was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 60-55 to Lincoln. While losing is never fun, the Black Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 41st, while the Lynx are ranked fifth).

Meanwhile, Sioux City North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. The contest between them and Sergeant Bluff-Luton didn't end well, with Sioux City North falling 84-70. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (57), the Stars still had to take the loss.

Sioux City East's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 7-2. As for Sioux City North, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Everything came up roses for Sioux City East against Sioux City North in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as the squad secured an 84-40 victory. In that matchup, Sioux City East amassed a halftime lead of 50-19, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
