Baseball Game Preview: Bishop Montgomery Knights vs. Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits

The Bishop Montgomery Knights will head out to face off against the Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Bishop Montgomery will be strutting in after a victory while Long Beach Poly will be coming in after a loss.

Bishop Montgomery took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They blew past Carson 10-1.

Kai Cadena looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

At the plate, Bishop Montgomery let Harrison Howe and Ethan Peterson run wild. Howe went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double, while Peterson went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave Peterson a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Sean Yanko, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Bishop Montgomery lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carson didn't launched any home runs.

Meanwhile, Long Beach Poly was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of San Pedro. That's two games in a row now that the Jackrabbits have lost by just one run.

Bishop Montgomery now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Long Beach Poly, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
