Recap: Foxcroft Academy Ponies vs. Presque Isle Wildcats
The Foxcroft Academy Ponies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell just short of Presque Isle by a score of 42-40. While losing is never fun, Foxcroft Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while Presque Isle is ranked 24th).
Several Ponies players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Samantha Ossenfort, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals. Halle Page was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals.
Foxcroft Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Presque Isle, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Foxcroft Academy will head out on the road to face off against Old Town at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Presque Isle will be home for the holidays to greet John Bapst Memorial at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. John Bapst Memorial comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
