Mater Dei faced St. John Bosco in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Monarchs were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Braves. The win continues a trend for the Monarchs in their matchups with the Braves: they've now won nine in a row.

Mater Dei not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept St. John Bosco between 14 and 17 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-17, 25-14.

Jack Jadon paced Mater Dei's offense, picking up 12 kills. Jadon got some help from Jake Newman and his 33 assists. Newman also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Beck Schobel, racking up two apiece.

Mater Dei's victory bumped their record up to 18-10-2. As for St. John Bosco, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-3.
