Volleyball Recap: Citrus Takes a Loss

Citrus lost against Lecanto back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Hurricanes came up short against the Panthers, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Hurricanes have suffered against the Panthers since October 6, 2022.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-19, 25-16.

Elin Ackerman paced Citrus' offense, picking up 11 kills. Ackerman got some help from Ella Merchant and her ten assists. Camryn Sweigart controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Citrus' loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Lecanto, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Citrus didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Weeki Wachee on the 28th. As for Lecanto, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Crystal River on the 28th.
