Soccer Game Preview: Long vs. Charles Henderson

The Long Rebels will head out on the road to face off against the Charles Henderson Trojans at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Long has given up an average of 3.7 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

Long is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten goals on Friday, they were much more limited against Houston Academy on Tuesday. They came up short against the Raiders, falling 10-0. The Rebels have struggled against the Raiders recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meetings.

Meanwhile, Charles Henderson kept a clean sheet against Ariton on Saturday. They blew past the Purple Cats 6-0. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won three games by three goals or more so far this season.

Long now has a losing record of 3-4-3. As for Charles Henderson, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Long couldn't quite get it done against Charles Henderson in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 as they fell 4-2. Can Long avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
