Baseball Recap: Fleming County Has No Trouble Against Paris

While Fleming County put up some runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Paris. Fleming County was the clear victor by a 10-0 margin over Paris. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Greyhounds: they've now won six in a row.

Thadd Applegate made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Applegate was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lester Doyle, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-2. Parker Sills was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Fleming County now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Paris, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Fleming County Panthers duke it out with Bath County Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The game will give Fleming County their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Paris, they will square off against Harrison County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
