After having lost a blowout in their previous game against University, Mead was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Frederick Golden Eagles by a score of 9-5. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Mavericks also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2025.
Ethan Elmore made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). Elmore was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Aiden Lemmon was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Cameron Wiley was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Mead hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Frederick struck out ten times.
Mead's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Frederick, they dropped their record down to 2-6 with the loss, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mead will host Niwot at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Frederick, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Estes Park at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
