            Softball Preview: Maconaquah Braves vs. Lewis Cass Kings        
        
		
        
        
            The Maconaquah Braves will face off against the Lewis Cass Kings at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Maconaquah has given up an average of 7.8  runs per game this season, but Thursday's  game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Wednesday just wasn't the day for Maconaquah's offense. They came up short against  Northwestern on Wednesday, falling  15-0. The Braves haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
 Maconaquah saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Kasey Murry, who  went 1-for-2 with one  double.
Meanwhile, Lewis Cass made easy work of Wabash  on Monday and carried off  a  10-1 win. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for the Kings.
The team  relied heavily on  Hannah Penn, who  went 3-for-4 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  double. That's the most  RBI  she has posted since back in April.  Kylie Logan was another key player,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with two  runs and one  double.
 Lewis Cass  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters  in seven consecutive  matchups.
 Lewis Cass' victory bumped their record up to 8-11. As for Maconaquah, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-14.
 Maconaquah took their  win against Lewis Cass  when the teams last played  back in May of 2024 by a conclusive  9-0 score. Will the Braves repeat their success,  or do  the Kings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
