Basketball Recap: McGregor Comes Up Short

McGregor saw some tournament action on Friday. They fell 56-46 to the Live Oak Classical Falcons. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1004th, while the Falcons are ranked 333rd).

Live Oak Classical's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tristan Wilson led the charge by putting up 18 points and five assists. Wilson has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Wes Snowden was another key player, going 6 of 10 on his way to 15 points.

This is the second loss in a row for McGregor and nudges their season record down to 5-11. As for Live Oak Classical, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 13-4.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Somerville the next time they take the court. McGregor will head out to face Somerville at 10:20 p.m. on Friday, while Live Oak Classical will head out to face them at 10:20 a.m. on Saturday.
