Basketball Game Preview: Crimson Cliffs Mustangs vs. Cedar Reds

Crimson Cliffs hasn't had much luck against Cedar recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Crimson Cliffs Mustangs are taking a road trip to square off against the Cedar Reds at 7:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Crimson Cliffs is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They had to suffer through a 76-38 loss at the hands of Snow Canyon. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 67th, while the Warriors are ranked second).

Despite the loss, Crimson Cliffs saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Josie Myers went 6 of 12 en route to 16 points and seven boards. Coco Korella was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Cedar suffered their closest defeat since December 5, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of Desert Hills by a score of 63-60.

Cedar's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Crimson Cliffs, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-11.

Crimson Cliffs came up short against Cedar when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 67-62. Can Crimson Cliffs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
