Softball Recap: Hough Snags Sixth Win in Last Seven Games

Hough had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 16-run drubbing they dealt Harding University on Thursday. Hough never let Harding University get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Huskies, who have now won seven contests by 11 runs or more so far this season.

Alicia Cobham was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1. She also launched a home run, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Maylee Stroupe, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Hough was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .667. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Hough is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. Harding University's defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.
