With a playoff win on the line, Colton rose to the challenge on Friday. They put the hurt on the Ganesha Giants with a sharp 73-53 victory. The Yellowjackets' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Koa Regalado continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 393 yards and nine TDs while completing 75% of his passes, and also rushing for 69 yards and one score on only six carries. He is becoming a predictor of Colton's success: when he posts at least three passing touchdowns the team is 5-1 (and 1-4 when he doesn't). Kalvin Leon also helped with three touchdowns in total.

Another reason for the win was Colton's imposing defensive line, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Ryan Vasquez, Derek Aparicio, and Kevin Hidalgo, who each picked up one sack apiece.

The win was the third in a row for Colton, bringing their record up to 6-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points over those games. As for Ganesha, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 8-3 record.

Coming up, Colton will challenge Bellflower at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Buccaneers' defense has only allowed 13.5 points per game this season, so the Yellowjackets' offense will have their work cut out for them. Ganesha does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
