Recap: Silas Rams vs. Bonney Lake Panthers

If the Silas Rams were riding high off their 72-29 takedown of the Mount Tahoma T-Birds last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Silas was outmatched by Bonney Lake at home and fell 68-26. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Silas has scored all season.

Despite the loss, Silas saw an underclassman step up: Annique Smith scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Smith has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times she's played. Kylie Duesterbeck was another key contributor, scoring three points along with two steals.

Jazmyn Shipp continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Bonney Lake, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 16 rebounds. Shipp also posted eight assists for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Rice, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds.

Silas' loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 7-7. As for Bonney Lake, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-2.

Silas will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Stadium at 1:30 p.m. As for Bonney Lake, they will head out on the road to square off against Lakes at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Lakes knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Bonney Lake likes a good challenge.
