Baseball Game Preview: Inderkum Tigers vs. Ponderosa Bruins

The Inderkum Tigers will be taking part in a tournament against the Ponderosa Bruins at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Inderkum has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Inderkum turned things around against Del Campo on Monday. They skirted past the Cougars 8-6.

Alton Lee made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. He has become a key player for Inderkum: the team is 4-2 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 6-10 otherwise. Lee was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jaylen Dawson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one triple. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February.

Meanwhile, Ponderosa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of Del Campo.

Sam Patterson was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. What's more, he gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since back in March.

At the plate, Ponderosa saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Garrett Snyder, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Inderkum's victory bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Ponderosa, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-15.
