Football Recap: Oakridge Starts off Right with Win over Coram Deo Academy

Oakridge gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They claimed a resounding 56-20 win over the Coram Deo Academy Lions. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 36-14.

Oakridge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Luke Dearman led the charge by throwing for 175 yards and four touchdowns on only 12 passes. Those 175 passing yards gave Dearman a new career-high. A healthy portion of Dearman's aerial production (104 yards to be exact) went to Joshua Dees, who also brought in two receiving touchdowns.

Oakridge didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 50-6 victory against Atlas HomeSchool on the 4th. As for Coram Deo Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 21-14 loss against McKinney Christian Academy on the 5th.
