Basketball Game Preview: West Craven Eagles vs. Havelock Rams

The West Craven Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the Havelock Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

West Craven is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Eastern Wayne on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. West Craven took a blow against Eastern Wayne, falling 93-63. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Eagles have suffered since January 11th.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Jimmie West Lll, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Colby Fernandez, who posted ten points.

Meanwhile, Havelock came up short against Swansboro on Tuesday, falling 75-51. The Rams have struggled against the Pirates recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

West Craven's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Havelock, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

West Craven beat Havelock 45-37 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Will West Craven repeat their success, or does Havelock have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
