Softball Recap: Colony Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Colony had won nine straight at home, but on Friday they bumped their record up to 20-5-1 to make it ten. They were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the West Valley Wolf Pack. Considering the Knights have won 14 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Colony let Alexis Congdon and Alesha Crowther run wild. Congdon went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Crowther got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three RBI, one run, and one double. Saibree Noll was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Colony was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .357 or higher in nine consecutive games.

As for West Valley, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by exactly 12 runs.

On West Valley's side, Rochelle Phipps made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That stolen base marked the first that Phipps has snagged this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Colony will take on rival Lathrop at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, West Valley is set to challenge their familiar foe Wasilla on Saturday.
