Baseball Recap: Glenwood City Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mondovi, Glenwood City was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They skirted past the Colfax Vikings 8-6. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hilltoppers also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Glenwood City let Blake Fayerweather and Brody Riba run wild. Fayerweather went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Riba went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Riba a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brock Wood, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run.

Glenwood City's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Colfax, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4.

Glenwood City wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Elmwood/Plum City on the 25th. Colfax has also already played their next match (against Boyceville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
