Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Highland walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Barberton Magics with a sharp 3-0 win on Thursday. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 3-0 win back in September.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Highland took every set by at least 16 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-9, 25-5.

Highland's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carley Niese, who had six aces and five digs. That's the most aces Niese has posted since back in August. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Tramonte, who had three digs and three aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Highland was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Highland has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Barberton, their loss was their 12th straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-20.

Coming up, Highland will challenge North Olmsted at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Barberton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
