Baseball Recap: Shawnee Indians vs. Defiance Bulldogs
Shawnee dropped their record down to 5-17 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They lost 12-1 to the Defiance Bulldogs. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Indians couldn't push the score so high this time.
Shawnee saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Menke, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

On the hitting side, Defiance got a massive performance out of Noah Gomez, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits Gomez has posted since back in May of 2024. Colt Ward also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Coming up, Shawnee will face off against Lima Senior at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Defiance, they are taking a road trip to challenge St. John's Jesuit at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bulldogs 2.3, the Titans 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
