Softball Game Preview: Villa Madonna Vikings vs. St. Henry Crusaders

For the first time this season, Villa Madonna will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will venture away from home to face off against the St. Henry Crusaders at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Villa Madonna fell victim to Walton-Verona and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 10-0 to the Bearcats. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Vikings' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, St. Henry was able to grind out a solid win over Bellevue on Wednesday, taking the game 12-9. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Crusaders.

This is the second loss in a row for Villa Madonna and nudges their season record down to 1-2. As for St. Henry, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Villa Madonna took their win against St. Henry in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 16-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Villa Madonna since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
