Recap: Norton Bluejays vs. Oakley Plainsmen

In what's become a running theme this season, the Norton Bluejays gave their fans yet another huge victory on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 68-45 margin over Oakley. Given Norton's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 77th, while Oakley is ranked 330th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Norton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Roman Hauser, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten assists. Hauser hasn't dropped below nine assists for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylen Murray, who scored 20 points.

The win makes it two in a row for Norton and bumps their season record up to 12-3. As for Oakley, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four games, which lines up perfectly with their 4-12 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Norton won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Decatur Community at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Hopefully Decatur Community focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Friday. As for Oakley, they will be playing at home against Ellis at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Ellis focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Friday.
